seriously guys, why is everypony getting so bent out of shape about Derpy? we were all perfectly content when it was just fannon, why get all butthurt now? its a name for a MEME for fucks sake, not a 'slur' *insert eyeroll here* I mean really, just because she had a silly voice (BonBon gets saddled--hehe see what I did there--with the same voice ALL THE TIME, yet no one thinks she's mentally disabled) and is a CLUTZ with cross-eyes you all assume they're taking pot-shots at mentally disabled people. its kinda stupid, just saying...its the same kind of generalistic attitude that you all get pissed at when someone get it in their head to go "hurrhurr RainbowDash MUST be a lezzie, she's a tomboy and has rainbow hair!" c'mon guys even Hasbro didn't care until it proved too hard to copyright, and oh why in Equestria was it so hard to copyright?
